Having a strong working knowledge of basic improv skills is vital for any actor. Introduce yourself to (or review) the basic tenets of improvisation and stagecraft, then apply these techniques to creative storytelling. This class will prepare you for improvising with anyone, anywhere and for creating honest, in-the-moment performances. Learn to listen, give and take, and stretch your character skills in a made up world.
About your Instructor:
Gobbie Dixon is an actor, writer, and improviser originally from Chattanooga, TN whose credits include Will Trent and Hightown. Spending 5 years in Chicago, Gobbie graduated from both the iO Training Program and The Second City Conservatory program. They toured with The Second City theatre aboard Norwegian Cruise Line, performed in She the People, and understudied two resident etc Stage reviews at The Second City. They’re an alumnus of the NBC Universal Bob Curry Fellowship and Showcase and graduated from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a BFA in English and Theatre.
