IP: A Practical Approach - THURS EVE

Influenced by Practical Aesthetics, this class helps actors of any skill level create clear, compelling, emotionally grounded actions for any scene. If you find that you’re “doing too much” with little to show for it or would like to refine your skills through a new lens, this class is for you.

Note: This class requires 3 hours of outside rehearsal per week.

Week 1: Getting on the Same Page - Grasp the core concepts and vocabulary of the technique

apply them to simple scenes and imagination exercises.

Week 2: Speak the Speech - Apply Week One’s work to monologues, focusing on connecting

your own “kernel of truth” to the text.

Weeks 3 & 4: Scene Study #1 - Dive into scene work. All actors will workshop their scene and

receive constructive feedback, which will be incorporated into Week 4.

Weeks 5 & 6: Scene Study #2 - Tackle more complex scenes, building on previous weeks' work

and pushing your boundaries.

There are no prerequisites for this class.

**All Adult classes 18 and over unless otherwise specified.
